4 Steps to Find Valuable Accounts on LinkedIn

📖 Read time: 2 minutes and 35 seconds

Hey friends,

Thanks for being here.

Creators around the world ask me all the time:

“How do I find and connect with “my audience” on LinkedIn?”

Well, if that’s you, you’re in for a treat.

It’s a very legit question to ask, because, with 875 million users, LinkedIn is a big city.

So, if you don’t know who you’re looking for, it’s nearly impossible to find them.

In this email, I’ll break down the process I used to strategically grow my audience on LinkedIn.

As it got better over time, I now teach it to my paying clients.

In fact, I included some exclusive content that is normally only shared with my clients.

Why do I share this?

Because it's time to solve the ignorance around LinkedIn..

Most people still..

  • Think it’s still a job platform only
  • Don’t know WHO they’re looking for
  • Lack the skills to connect with the right people
  • Haven't seen the power of the search engine

Good news:

After finishing this email, you know exactly which steps to take to find, connect and grow your audience with the right people.

Here's how to step by step:

Step 1: Use the advanced search on LinkedIn

First and foremost, LinkedIn is a search engine.

A powerful one as it not only allows you to search for people’s names, but it also allows you to search for job titles, companies, and “headlines.”

This is not a difficult thing to do, you just have to see it one time to understand.

That’s why I made this quick video to show you the full process.

Step 2: Use the breadcrumbs technique

You don’t want to stop there.

Once you find interesting people to follow and connect with, you can follow the breadcrumbs by browsing through the suggestions on LinkedIn, under the tab “People also viewed”.

The comment section on LinkedIn is often where the real conversation happens.

So, you want to head to the “Activity” section of the profile you’re on.

Head to some of the best-performing content of this creator and engage with other people their comments.

👉 If you’re in for a good challenge:

Set a timer for 30 minutes and hop from profile to profile.

Lose yourself in the vastness of LinkedIn.

When the timer rings, you’ve engaged with dozens of people and planted many seeds for new connections.

Step 3: Be strategic about who you follow

This third step might be the most interesting one.

Why?

It allows you to be very strategic about the people you add to your network.

You want to add the following types of people to your network and engagement strategy:

  1. Top Creators
  2. Same industry/size
  3. Ideal clients
  4. Promising creators
  5. Friends/content you like

This process is a bit more detailed and fully broken down in the LinkedIn Networking Playbook.

Step 4: Reach out to them

When you just had an interaction with another creator on the public feed, this offers a great opportunity to make the connection to the next level.

Send that person a personalized connection request and open the conversation.

This way, you build engaged and real relationships, one step at a time.

Here's your blueprint to reach out to anyone on LinkedIn.

All right, that's it for this week.

See you next week.

Till then, keep being awesome.

Much love,
